Lisa Frederick, DVM
Dr. Lisa Frederick graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined Alford Avenue Veterinary Hospital in 2006. However, she was a part of the Alford Avenue family long before that. Born and raised in upstate New York, she did her undergraduate work in Grand Rapids, MI, before fleeing the frigid temperatures for warmer weather. She started as a kennel attendant in 1999, then worked her way up to veterinary assistant before heading to vet school. When a position opened up to work as an Alford Avenue vet during her senior year, she jumped on the opportunity to return to Hoover. She and her husband Sam have a son named Tommy and 3 cats. If she ever has spare time she enjoys reading, watching movies, and taking trips to the beach. As a member of American Association of Feline Practitioners, she volunteers many services and time to Kitty Kat Haven Rescue and the Colony Cats of Birmingham.
